How much does skip bin hire cost?

The cost of hiring a skip bin depends on the size and type you require, but rest assured we offer competitive prices to accommodate your needs. Now long is the hire period?

Our standard skip bin hire period is 7 days. However, if you need it for a shorter or longer timeframe, don’t hesitate to let us know! We’re flexible and always willing to work with your schedule.

Do I need a council permit to have a skip bin on my property?

If you plan to place the skip bin solely on private property, no council permit is required. However, if any part of the bin will be placed on council property (such as a nature strip or roadside), then you may need a permit from Brisbane City Council.

Will you provide council permits assistance?

Yes! If a council permit is needed for your skip bin placement, our team is more than happy to guide and assist you through the process. We have extensive experience dealing with local councils and can ensure that all necessary requirements are met.

What happens to the waste?

We take waste management seriously at Smart Skip Bins Brisbane! Once collected, waste from your skip bin will be taken to an approved processing facility where it’ll undergo proper sorting and disposal in an environmentally responsible manner. We recycle as much of the material as possible and dispose of any remaining waste according-to current regulations.

Where are the Brisbane City Council Tips?

Brisbane City Council has resource recovery centres located across various suburbs. These are Chandler, Ferny Grove, Nudgee, and Willawong. These centres accept a variety of waste types, but keep in mind that fees may apply for certain items or quantities.

Do I have to pay a fee at the tip?

Fees at Brisbane City Council tips depend on the type and amount of waste you bring. Some types of household waste can be disposed of free of charge; however, others may incur fees based on weight or volume. It’s always best to check the council website or contact them directly to confirm any applicable charges before heading over. The council also provides free waste vouchers to all residents.

What size skip bin do I need?

Can I put asbestos in a skip bin?

No, we do not accept asbestos in our bins and it must be disposed of separately by specialist disposal services.

Can I mix different types of waste in one skip bin?

It depends on the type of skip bin you hire. Our Mixed Waste Skip Bins allow for a combination of general household waste and light construction materials, but other bins are designed specifically for one type of waste only (e.g., Green Waste or Soil/Dirt).

What happens when my skip bin is full?

Once your hired skip bin is full, simply give us a call and we’ll come pick it up as soon as possible! We aim to provide

We offer the following sizes and uses:

  • 2m³ skips for small cleanups and green waste
  • 3m³ skips, ideal for cleanouts or minor renovation waste
  • 4m³ skips suitable for larger renovations and medium-sized waste
  • 6m³ skips designed for large renovation or demolition projects

We also provide larger skips such as:

  • 10m³, 12m³, 15m³, and 18m³ bins to cater to even more extensive waste removal needs.

What are the different waste types?

Do you recycle?

Yes. But we use third parties to help us sort reusable waste.

  • Paper and cardboard: Recycled to create new paper products.
  • Glass: Crushed and melted down to form new glass containers.
  • Plastic: Processed into items like outdoor furniture or packaging.
  • Aluminium cans: Melted and remolded for various aluminium-based products.
  • Metal scraps: Turned into new metal products such as construction materials.
  • Green waste: Converted into mulch, compost or organic fertilizers.

Do you provide skip bins outside of Brisbane?

We currently provide service in Brisbane only but may consider expanding to other areas in the future. However for large commercial projects we can delivery to the Gold Coast or Sunshine Coast.

Where do you deliver the bins to?

Our bins are delivered directly to domestic or commercial addresses within Brisbane city limits only. This include Northsid and Southsie suburbs. We also deliver to western Brisbane and the eastern suburbs and Bayside.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept all major credit cards, PayPal, direct bank transfer and cash payments upon delivery.

Are you licensed and insured?

Yes, we are fully licensed and insured to operate in Soth East Queensland.

Are you bins accredited?

Yes they are all designed to meet Australian standards.

Do you have any discounts available for using multiple bins for large-scale projects?

How quickly can I get a skip bin if I need one urgently?

Depending on availability, we can usually have a skip bin delivered within 24-48 hours. If you book early we can usually have a bin to you the same day.

Can I select a specific delivery time?

Yes, please contact us to discuss your preferred delivery time and we will always try our best to accommodate you.

Is there any limit to the amount of materials that can be placed in a bin?

Yes. You cannot load waste over the fill line. The weight of the contents must not exceed the legal load limit for safety reasons. Please consider this before hiring a skip bin so as to ensure it is safe for transport and disposal purposes.

Do the bins have covers or lids to secure load/materials during transport?

Yes, our skip bins are safely covered and secured with tarpaulins and buckles prior to collection from site or transport elsewhere.

What are your bins made from?

Yes, all our bins are made from high-quality steel. They are specially designed to be robust and reliable for carrying large quantities of materials in a safe and secure manner.

What kind of materials are acceptable in your skip bins?

We accept general waste, green waste, light construction debris, building materials such as brick/concrete/timber etc., carpeting, cardboard and paper packing materials.

Can I dump chemicals into the bin?

We do not accept hazardous or prohibited items that include asbestos, chemicals, gas bottles/cylinders, food waste and dead animals.

Do your prices include disposal fees or other additional charges?

Our prices cover everything. Including disposal fees and all transport costs.
